your trip overview

Currawong Lakes is a private 2,000-acre fly fishing retreat nestled in Tasmania's East Coast Highlands near Lake Leake.

With three purpose-managed freshwater lakes holding self-sustaining populations of wild brown and rainbow trout, it offers an exclusive fishing experience you simply won't find on public water.

Over three days of guided fishing, you will work the lakes with experienced local guides who know every bay, drop-off and cruising lane. The focus here is on dry fly and sight fishing, with spectacular hatches of Red Spinners, Blue Damsels and midges drawing trout to the surface throughout the season. Fish average around 3 pounds, with genuine trophy fish available.

With pickup and drop-off from Hobart available, four nights of on-site accommodation, all meals catered and every detail handled, you can focus entirely on the fishing and the wider Currawong experience.

Three days on private lakes targeting wild brown and rainbow trout with experienced local guides.

Four nights in comfortable on-site accommodation at Currawong Lakes, surrounded by native bushland.

All meals are catered throughout your stay, with quality Tasmanian produce featured across breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Quality fly fishing gear including rods, reels, waders and boots is available if required, so you can travel light.
