These are intimate, often tree-lined waters where you move on foot, read each pool and run as you go, and cast to individual trout feeding in clear, shallow water. This is small stream fishing in its truest form, methodical, close-quarters and deeply satisfying when it comes together.
Our Lowland Rivers packages depart from Hobart and focus on the spring-fed rivers and meadow streams of southern and central Tasmania. These trips work well for visiting anglers who want a genuine Tasmanian river fishing experience without the logistics of a highland trip, or for those who want to combine a river day with other activities in or around Hobart.
These trips are day-based, with no accommodation included. Packages cover all guiding, transport to and from fishing locations, quality tackle and locally tied flies, and a chef-prepared riverside lunch featuring Tasmanian produce.

River days guided by Matt Stone, with locations selected each morning based on stream flow, season and conditions.
